The School of Information Engineering was established in early 2009. It grew out of the former Department ofComputer Science and Network Engineeringmerged with the Department ofInformation Technologyat Yulin University. Currently the School offers three BSc degree programs. They are Computer Science and Technology, Information Management and Information SystemandIOT (Internet of Things).
The School is staffed with 55, among whom 44 belong to the faculty. Of these, 5 are professors, 4 are associate professors, and 9 are lecturers. The number of the students amounts to 628. Of the student body, 352 are attending the BSc degree programs and 276 are attending the national diploma programs.
The School is subdivided into five teaching and research groups. They are: Software Engineering, Network Engineering, Computer Courses for Non-Computer Majors,Modern Educational Technology, and Information Management and Information Systems.
The School has set up 7 computer labs intended for computer-science majors, including the Software Engineering Lab, Computer Composition Lab, Interface Technology Lab, Assembly and Maintenance Lab, Network Engineering Lab, System Analysis and Testing Lab, and Cut-in System Lab. The school has altogether 795 computers, worth 4 million RMB Yuan.

Computer Science and Technology (a four-year BSc program)
Objectives:to equip students with systematic computer application knowledge and skills and to enable them to seek careers in computer management, computer teaching and computer research in education institutions, scientific research departments, businesses and government organizations.
Courses offered:Basic Circuit Knowledge, Mathematical Logic, Advanced Program Design Language, Datum Structure, Operational System, Theory of Computer Composition, Interface Technology, Theory and Application of Databases, Computer Networks and their Applications, Computer System Structure, Theory of Software, Compiler Principle, Software Engineering, Network Safety and Maintenance, Application Techniques of Intelligent Information System, Artificial Intelligence, E-Commerce.
Information Management and Information System (a four-year BSc program)
Objectives:to train students to become specialized personnel who are equipped with modern information technology and competent to do systematic analysis and design of various kinds of information by using systematic methodology, and to enable them to seek careers in analysis, design, implementation and management of information system in education institutions, scientific research departments, businesses and government organizations.
Courses offered:Management Science, Western Economics, Science of Business Management, Operations Research, JAVA Program Design, Database System, Computer System, Management Information System, E-Commerce, Information System Analysis and Design, Planning of Business Resources and Cases of Information System.
IOT (Internet of Things) (a four-year BSc program)
Objectives:The program is intended to train students to be equipped with knowledge, theory and skills of IOT (Internet of Things), to master the basic theory, knowledge and skills of communication technology, network technology, sensing technology and software technology, and to become competent professional personnel in related businesses and industries.
